B.C. Woman Found in a Water Tank

                                            Vancouver resident Elisa Lam was last seen by Cecil Hotel staff Jan. 31.

Elisa Lam body was discovered Tuesday in a water tank at the Cecil Hotel, L.A. Lam, 21 years old, was staying at the Cecil Hotel where she went missing on Jan.23 2013 last seen by an employee of the hotel.
Lam traveled to California alone on Jan. 26 from Vancouver B.C. Police believe there was "foul play" in the death of Lam because where she was found and what great lengths it takes to access the hotels water tank. To get to the tanks, someone would have to go to the top floor then take a staircase with a locked door and emergency alarm preventing roof access. Another ladder would have to be taken to the platform and a person would have to climb the side of the tank.


The body was discovered after many complaints by hotel guest due to low water pressure. The tanks provide water for all of the hotel taps and would have been used by guests for washing and drinking. The water was tested by the department of public health and said to be safe. 


Hotel security cameras showed her getting onto the hotel elevator and popping her head out looking both ways.


This hotel had been the home of a few infamous serial killers at one point.

This relates to law 12 because this a murder. Murder's are charged by the regulations in the criminal code.

How I See It.....

This is a very sad and shocking story. A young girl from around here murdered in a L.A. hotel and stuck into a water tank, crazy! This article reminds me of all the sick people in the world that would do such a thing! If i were a hotel guest of the Cecil and drinking from the water tank Lam was found in i would be beyond horrified!

    This is so true Nicole. How can the hotel just let body float in their number one source of water. They should do a regular check up, And how can someone just disappear in a water tank. SHOCKING

    this is soo scary and unbelievable that someone would do that to a young woman! I hope whoever did this will be found and punished!

    This is very alarming now knowing that it was a hotel where infamous serial killers stayed. I would definitely not check in anywhere by myself without doing a background check on the place.

    Watching the video of her in the elevator is so unsettling, she almost seems possessed. Scary to think of what happened to her!

    I've refrained from watching the video but the thought that the city has been using the water that was holding her body for weeks is just terrifying. It's absolutely beyond horrible what happened to her.
